Osmaniye Fakıuşağı Rural-Urban Park – A Breathing Confluence of Nature and City

The Osmaniye Fakıuşağı Rural-Urban Park is designed as a 411,000 m² ecological living fabric, uniting the tranquility of the rurals with the rhythm of the city in a single breath. Stretching between the city’s edge and the agricultural landscape, this green spine is also envisioned as a gathering and shelter area in times of earthquake disaster. Main pedestrian axes linking Karaçay Stream and Prof. Dr. Alper Akıncıoğlu Avenue are enriched with functions such as bicycle paths, an event meadow, mosque square, biological pond, sports fields, viewing terraces, and children’s playgrounds. Plant compositions reflecting the colors, scents, and textures of Osmaniye’s flora are shaped into an arboretum, a rainbow tree garden, and a rainbow plant garden. Implemented in two stages, the project is complemented by a public house, library, and social spaces, aiming to preserve the ecosystem while offering an accessible and high-quality valley of life.
