Historical Fevziye Park
An Example for Sustainable Historical Landscape Sites: Bursa Fevziye Pavilion and its Park
The Historical Fevziye Pavilion and its Park are in the central area of Bursa, Molla Arap Neighborhood. They are not only significant part of neighborhood’s memory but also very important for Bursa with their urban cultural and spatial values, and by belonging to cultural heritage. The Fevziye Park has been registered as the 2nd degree natural site, has 12,000 m2 with all its natural environ, closed, and open spaces.
Open and closed architecture already existed within the park area, like existing vegetation, historical entrance gateway, dancing platform, decorative stone pond and its surrounding, and Mesjit Tomb and Hazire excavation area, old natural stone garden wall and steps, and Water Storage have been preserved and maintained. Besides those, new spaces, such as Fevziye Pavilion, Wedding Hall, children playgrounds and open-air show areas, walking courses, and vista terraces, are proposed and designed.
