BJK Vodafone Park
Project Description
BJK İnönü Sports Complex – Vodafone Park
Beşiktaş Gymnastics Club (Beşiktaş Jimnastik Kulübü, BJK) was founded in 1903 and is the first sports club of Turkey. The fan group of Beşiktaş, nicknamed the “Çarşı”, holds a significant importance in the current matters of the country and for BJK itself. The grand project to redesign the İnönü Sports Complex, called the “Vodafone Arena”, is a living complex and is the first smart stadium of Turkey.
With its closed, open, semi-open areas for sports, service, recreation, trade and culture, Vodafone Park builds on the urban influence and location of the old İnönü Stadium as a seaside stadium thru the Bosphorus. Vodafone Park is not just designed to host games, but as a unique complex with the largest ‘Eagle Nest’ souvenir shop, Vodafone GSM Center, meeting and congress halls, restaurants and cafes, Beşiktaş Museum, music studio, ball hall, urban open areas, lighting and nightscape.
With its contemporary uses, natural landscape and urban plazas that can accommodate big masses coming for the big events, Vodafone Park is ready to become the new heart of the cultural and artistic life of İstanbul and a new symbol for the 21st century and for the city.
