ANKAmall Shopping Mall
One of the
Firsts in Ankara: Ankamall Shopping Mall
Ankamall,
one of Ankara’s first shopping centers opened in the late 1990s, is imprinted
into the city’s memory as a focal point easily reached by metro and bus lines.
Distinguished by its variety of indoor–outdoor spaces, hotel connection, and
high user potential, the project considers access for both pedestrians and
vehicles, day-and-night use, spatial quality, and comfort. The main entrance
plaza guides visitors, while an event area, pergola, seating units, playground,
and reflecting pool define the first section of the project. After passing
security, visitors reach a café, terraced pool, and the main entrance, with
paving patterns and multiple access points directing movement. Durable outdoor
ceramics, native planting, safe play equipment, and a landscape supported by an
artificial hill ensure sustainability and unity. A carefully planned lighting
scheme enhances both functionality and atmosphere, enriching the space with
layers of meaning and experience.
